John McCain Was a POW

I understand that John McCain suffered greatly at the hands of his captors, and I am sympathetic to the harsh conditions he must have endured.

I think he deserves honor and accolades. Give the man a parade as a war hero!

But what I don't understand is what this has to do with the ability to create policy that will enhance my and my family's lives.

Also, why does McCain have such a lousy record in supporting our veterans when he himself is one?

Please explain to me should I vote for him for President of the United States because he was a prisoner of war?

I'm not understanding the logic.

I have examined Obama's policies, in particular his plans for a new green economy and I was impressed with the forward-thinking vision.

I see that our manufacturing jobs have been shipped over to China, and I don't believe they're ever coming back, not with labor as cheap as it is over there.

But what we can do is start giving tax incentives toward American businesses interested in moving us away from oil dependency. New jobs that can be created through wind and solar technologies.

We can protect our jobs with carrot and stick measures to make sure that Americans' needs come first.
